The Third International Staff Training Week (3ISTW) took place at the University of Sarajevo from 14 to 18 October 2019. It was a five-day event that included seminars, presentations, and active participation of international partners, followed by socio-cultural activities and local product tastings.
The 3ISTW focused on the internationalisation processes of the University and served as an opportunity to connect and network partners, academics, students, and representatives of the International Relations Office.
On the first day of the 3ISTW, following the introductory address by Prof. Dr. Aleksandra Nikolić, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation at the University of Sarajevo, participants were presented with an overview of the University, its organisational units, programmes, and projects in which the University of Sarajevo participated, as well as the study programmes offered to its students.
On Tuesday, 3ISTW participants visited Mostar and the Džemal Bijedić University of Mostar. Meanwhile, at the University of Sarajevo, a programme on the topic “Internationalisation of the University of Sarajevo” was organised for Vice-Deans and coordinators for international cooperation from UNSA faculties and academies. On this occasion, Mr. Sc. Adnan Rahimić, Expert Associate for International Cooperation, presented a semi-annual report on the University’s international cooperation activities. The documentation of the International Cooperation Service, the EURAXESS initiative, and proposals on improving the offer for international students and staff were also presented.
On 16 October, the topic “Internationalisation at Home” was discussed. Mr. Sc. Adnan Rahimić, Expert Associate for International Cooperation at UNSA, presented the Service’s activities related to International Credit Mobility for UNSA students and staff. Mr. Geert De Lepeleer from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), STINT project coordinator, presented this successful capacity building project, while Prof. Dr. Branko Vučijak from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Sarajevo, REBUS project coordinator, spoke about how to prepare, apply for, implement, and finalise a capacity building project. The Western Balkans Alumni Association was presented by Mr. Sabahudin Mujkić.
The programme concluded on Wednesday with the exhibition “Exhibition + – Erasmus+ Story through Photography”, held at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Sarajevo, at 19:00. As the title implied, this exhibition showcased photographs taken by students and staff from Bosnia and Herzegovina who participated in Erasmus+ exchanges. Visitors were able to gain insight into their mobility experiences through photography and short descriptions, and were encouraged to take part in future Erasmus+ calls. The 10th International Scholarship Fair was held on Thursday, 17 October 2019, from 10:00 to 16:00, as part of the Third International Staff Training Week.
