To apply as an incoming exchange student at the University of Sarajevo, you must meet the following criteria and steps:
- Eligibility and Agreement: You need to be enrolled at a higher education institution abroad and have an active exchange agreement between your home institution and the University of Sarajevo (UNSA). If there is no valid agreement, you may inquire about applying as a freemover, but only if your home institution nominates you first.
- Nomination: Your home university must nominate you for the exchange program.
- Application Process: Once nominated, you’ll need to submit the required application documents as per the guidelines set by UNSA.
- Program Suitability: It’s important to identify suitable study programs at UNSA that align with your ongoing studies at your home institution.
- Host Confirmation: Your exchange mobility must be officially confirmed by UNSA.
Before beginning the application, check with the International Relations or Erasmus+ office at your home university to confirm whether they offer international mobility options with UNSA. This office can assist you with the nomination and application processes.

- Accepted,
- Requested for Modification, or
- Rejected (with an explanation provided).
- Acceptance and Welcome Email: If accepted, you’ll receive a Welcome email with detailed instructions on preparing further documents, including the Erasmus+ Learning Agreement for Studies. This official document outlines your mobility study plan at UNSA.
- Filling in the Learning Agreement:
- The information you submitted in the application form (and approved by UNSA coordinators) should be transferred into the learning agreement.
- If modifications were requested during the review, incorporate them as instructed.
Finalizing the Learning Agreement: Follow the guidance in the Welcome email carefully to complete your learning agreement. Once finalized, submit it to your assigned UNSA host coordinator for their review, signature, and completion of the formalities.
This structured approach ensures that your mobility plan is aligned with UNSA’s offerings and your academic goals.
